Live Video Mapping: NDE 2024
about
Luminous tribute to “Marie Curie”
For the Night of the Stars 2024 (Noche de las Estrellas, 2024), I created a live video mapping in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Toluca and musician Itan de Hüi (fusion rock), projected at the Centro Cultural Mexiquense. Through animations inspired by radiation, atomic structures and famous phrases of the Polish scientist, the installation paid tribute to the legacy of Marie Curie, fusing art, science and technology in an immersive visual experience.

Creative Process of the Live Video Mapping "Homage to Marie Curie"
The development of this immersive audiovisual installation began with in-depth research into the life and legacy of Marie Curie, a pioneering scientist whose work revolutionized physics and chemistry. The inspiration for the visual narrative came from her discovery of radium and polonium, her struggle in a male-dominated field, and her tireless pursuit of knowledge, elements that translated into a symbolic and immersive visual aesthetic.

Concept and Visual Narrative
The video mapping was designed to take the viewer on a journey through Curie's world, combining scientific and spatial elements with an artistic aesthetic. Visual patterns inspired by:
Chemical formulas and light radiation, represented by glowing particles and dynamic flashes.
Geometric shapes and atomic structures, symbolizing the precision of his work in science.
Scientific equations, which appeared subtly between layers of light and color.
Planets and solar systems, representing the universe.

Color Palette and Ambiance
The color palette was based on shades of violet, yellow, red and neon greens, evoking the luminescence of chemical reactions. Gold and violet tones were also integrated to give a sense of mysticism and homage to its greatness.

Technique and Visual Development
We worked with a combination of generative animation, dynamic textures and effects of atoms and particles, achieving an immersive effect on the facade of the fountain of the Mexiquense Cultural Center. For synchronization with the music, real-time mapping tools were used, allowing a fluid interaction between image and sound.

Live Experience and Reception
The show was presented on November 9, 2024, immersing the audience in a visual universe that blended art, science and technology. The fusion of the projection with the architecture of the space and the ambient live music of fusion rock musician Itan de Hüi, generated an emotional and educational impact, highlighting the relevance of Curie's legacy and her influence on the world today.
